TUMPAY.- Dance of the quechua area on the jungle border, constitutes the previous part of the wedding, because it is said the no one can be married without having danced tumpay; it is performed with strange movements of the feet, without lifting them, showing agile hips and heads, the interchange handkerchiefs with their hands and caress each other. As soon as the first day light appears, the couples walk away to immerse in their passion. Women with beautiful and colourful skirts, jackets and hats, the men with trousers, shirts and folded ponchos, dance by the music of “pinquillos” and drums, in the provinces of Carabaya and Sandia. CASARASIRI.- Marriage dance of the aymara sector, where the young men dance with life force, expressing their love, ending the relationship in marriage. The couples, dressed in their best clothes, perform a propitiatory dance that end with lighting of candles, where the happiness of the bride and groom adds to the nuptial tune. The music is performed with flutes and drums, in nearly all the communities of Puno.
