Dances created by herders of camelidae, ovine and other cattle of the high flatland.

LLAMERADA.- Social and economic exhibition dance of the camelidae herders. It is the real expression of pain and happiness of the local population, honouring the millenary and beautiful animal. THE LLAMA.- Very elegant dance where the dancers, men and women, imitate the funny and rhythmic pace of the Llamas that follow the male leader of the herd, dressed with hats and ponchos richly adorned with silver and gold threads and stones, they use a belt adorned with silver coins and in the hand they carry a “wichi-wichi”, sort of whip adorned with volour balls. Dancing to the melody of the band, it is performed in all the department permanently.

AWATIRIS.- Pastor dance of the high flatland, performed by both male and female children and youngsters, located in the high plains and pasture grounds, with erotic music, dressed humbly with lamb wool hats and ponchos and the girls with coloured "polleras”, carrying spinning wheels and slings. Dancing with the music of “pinquillos”, “quenas” (flutes), “charango” (smal guitar)and “zampoña” (Andean flute), they “talk” the song and knit their love. This dance can be seen in all the community festivities of the department.
