Ritual, erotic, agricultural and carnival dances
of the aymara and quechua sectors of all the department. Characterised
by vigorous movements, expressing euphoria to the high flatland
cosmos, providing colour, art and gym skills, showing great physical
resistance, in co-ordination with beautiful music, performed with
“pinquillos”, drums, flutes and “mandolinas” (type of guitar), they
pay tribute to the plants in flower. Men and women dress in colourful
clothes. The women move in sexy ways to provoke the indifferent
young men, ending in marriage. We may mention:
