Erotic, ritual and pagan dances, for the different social activities and religious parties of the communities.

MARINERA Y PANDILLA PUNEÑA.- It is the characteristic of the carnival of Puno city. Its origin dates during the last period of the colony and the first period of the republican era, where the native woman “cholita” and the Spanish boy “señorito” dance. It is the most mestizo expression, fusion of the “huayño” and the Spanish and French gang. A man carrying a cane determines the start of the dance performed with the most erotic music of the “cholo” art, expressing colour, light and love for the scenery of Puno and the land that saw them grow.

CACHARPARI.- Farewell dance performed in all religious and carnival festivities of the town of the high flatland. The groups of “sikuris”, dancers of catholic faith and the carnival dancers, dance with the music of bands, “estudiantinas” (small elegant musical groups), “quenachos”, etc. With happy and sad music because the party is over until next year, ending with love and marriage choreography.
